Meet Dr. Sarah Lea

Proud survivor of hustle culture, burnout, and the misogynistic medical field.

Not too long ago, I was a practicing physician who ran her own family practice. Up until the pandemic, I juggled life as a professional, a wife, a parent, and a business-owner who, maybe like you, worked herself into the ground to the point of becoming wildly out of touch with many of the things most important to me.

(Not to mention, who lost her self-identity outside of her ‘roles’ along the way).

With the help and inspiration of a friend, I came to realize that I had my own entrepreneurial spirit inside me wanting to get out — which first manifested into a community called “She Found Motherhood,” (co-founded with my great friend Alicia): a community for pregnant and newly parenting people. We started this business in early 2020, just before the pandemic hit.

Throughout the growth of this business, I realized how much I loved connecting with people on a wider level — and also learned about how important time freedom was for me.

The pandemic was challenging for me, like it was for many, trying to balance my work as a physician, my family, and my business. I had to make some really challenging decisions and realized that I was likely, not alone in feeling torn in multiple directions.

More than that, I realized that I was OVER the hustle culture that is so prevalent in today’s world. The misogyny and patriarchy in our medical system that had totally sucked me in was weighing me down, and I was ready to break free from it — once and for all.

I made a decision that the trajectory of my life needed a MAJOR overhaul.
